11 PHILADELPHIA, PA: ELVA GOULBOURNE (Dinthill Technical) and the Jamaica College’s two-mile relay quartet are among four individuals and two teams that will be inducted in to the Penn Relays Carnival (PRC) Wall of Fame ceremonies at Franklyn Field, University of Pennsylvania, during the running of the 130th edition of the relays. Established in 1994 to mark the 100th running of the Penn Relays Carnival, the Penn Relays Wall of Fame honours the event’s most distinguished competitors. With the induction of the Class of 2026, the Wall of Fame now recognises 134 individuals and 119 relay teams. This year’s honourees were selected by a panel of Penn Relays experts. Inductions are based solely on performances at the Penn Relays, with achievements from other competitions not considered. Elva Goulbourne, Dinthill Technical HS – 1999, Auburn University, 2003 Competing for Dinthill Technical, Elva Goulbourne made her mark on the Penn Relays Carnival in 1999, breaking Carol Lewis’ 1981, Girls HS Long Jump record by seven centimetres with a leap of 6.40m (21’ 0”). Competing for Auburn University, she set the collegiate women’s meet record at 6.65m (21’ 10”), and won back-to-back long jump titles in 2002 and 2003. In the team category, Jamaica College delivered one of the fastest high school 4 x 800m relays in PRC history in 1999. The team of Jeffrey Wallace, Dwayne Medley, Kenrick Ferrit and Mashel Jackson ran 7:37.71 seconds, then the second-fastest time ever at the Franklyn Field.
