The funds will go to the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica. Bishop Beason stipulated that a portion of the donation be allocated to the churches that he pastored in Lacovia and Santa Cruz, in the parish of St Elizabeth, Jamaica, most severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa. The balance will go to the other churches across Jamaica that suffered from the hurricane’s impact. Bishop Beason, a former Church of God International executive and Caribbean field director, emphasised the importance of supporting communities in crisis. “Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in Jamaica who have endured so much in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa,” he said.
