Born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, he migrated to the US with a desire to spread the culture of his homeland. He carried with him a dream and vision of making Jamaica a better place for all and has a passion for creating a positive impact in his community. His love for music anchored him to be an on air personality in 1988. The opportunities enabled him to host, market, and promote concerts, fashion shows, forums and programs throughout the US and the Caribbean. His dedication and devotion to help others in the Caribbean Diaspora has inspired him to be an active advocate for numerous causes in the West Indian Spectrum. Mr. Longmore decided to put forth his GOD given talent to help bring changes in his community. He is the representative for the state of Connecticut Northeast region of the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council and serves on several task forces (Crime Prevention, Agriculture, Child Development, Churches, Scouting and United Way). He is the VP of Marketing and Public Relations of Community Tourism in Jamaica. Utilizing the concept of “Made in Jamaica”, the idea is to market community businesses and services from Jamaica on a worldwide level. This will in turn help stabilise the economy by providing jobs and help improve the overall living conditions in the country. He is the President of Earth Angel Productions - a gospel based company that promotes talent searches for young people. His leadership as a humanitarian and media personality has been recognised by the States of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland and Texas. It is with this concept that he was acknowledged as one of 21 honourees at the first annual Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in CT. The ceremony is the vision of Dr. Delroy Lingo and his team. The idea is to recognize the work of extra-ordinary people who continuously volunteer their time to help others. Longmore supports various charitable organizations such as: Sickle Cell Foundation, Jamaica Gymnastic Association, Ex Servicemen & Women of Jamaica and children Bible clubs. He is chairperson for PLOG, a non-profit organisation that provides skills training and support for underprivileged children in Ghana Africa. A loving and devoted husband, father, mentor, tutor, speaker and basketball coach; he credits his blessings to GOD and then family. He hosts the television series “Long Talks” and a radio programme entitled “Reggae Voyage”, Saturdays at 8:00pm on WESU 88.1FM www. wesufm.org (rebroadcast Tuesdays at 5:30pm EST on freshfmradiolondon. com and is the CEO of reggae. university. His shows and website aims to educate, motivate, inspire, inform, and entertain the global Diaspora while spreading the Love and Culture of the Caribbean through Music, community tourism and conversations. Longmore and his wife Jackie have put together a nonprofit organisation (D&J Longmore Foundation) to help needy children in Jamaica and Africa. This is part of his marketing concept with an effort of making for a Better World through healing, tourism, skilled training, media, business, music, fashion, sports, films, education and social networking. His love for pageants and fashion shows has spurred him to be the host of the Annual Miss Plus Size Universe International Pageant.
