12 Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Samantha Veroncia Lindsay is being asked to contact her father Kenneth Brown at 1-876-373-1011 or 1-876-310-7481. NOTICE Cole was forced out of the meet. She was a member of the awesome Edwin Allen quartet last year, and with her team expected to include young Theianna Lee Terrelonge, Edwin Allen could go all the way once again and stretch their win to eight in a row. GIRLS 4X400M CLASH Both schools will feature in another gigantic clash in the 4x400-m relays. Hydel will be hoping to defend their title, but have played second fiddle this season to Edwin Allen on three occasions. Led by Amoya Jameison, to Natasha Fox, Kacian Powell and TonyAnn Beckford, the latter three were members of last year’s team. Edwin Allen team was brilliant at Champs where they won the event in a school record of 3:31.78 seconds, the fastest time by a Jamaican team so far this season, and much faster than Hydel’s winning time of 3:32.77 done last year at Penn’s. The team from Frankfield in Clarendon looks set to go even faster. Hydel will definitely make some changes to their team to be led by their captain, Oneika McAnnuff, and Aaliah Baker, members of last year’s winning team. They could include Reid who is also a 200-m specialist and Carifta Games Under-17 400-m silver medallist and Jody Ann Daley in their bid to halt Edwin Allen’s winning streak this season. Former winners, Holmwood Technical, with the outstanding Rickiann Russell cannot be counted out. Russell has been a cut above her peers in the one-lap event all season and running early like she did at Carifta Games instead of her usual anchor could make a difference for her team. Also, the new schedule for the girls where the 4x400-m preliminary will be run in the morning session, and the 4x400 and 4x800 finals run 45 minutes apart later in the day could affect Edwin Allen’s winning chance as two of their athletes will be involved in both relays. Edwin Allen has dominated the 4x800-m relay all season. BOYS AT PENN It should also be very close going among the boys where Camperdown, Kingston College and Jamaica College have all won Championship of America 4x100-m, 4x400-m and 4x800-m relays. After his magnificent run at Champs where he became the first Jamaican junior male athlete to go sub-10 seconds by winning the Class 1 100-m in a record 9.99 seconds, and toyed with his opponents on the anchor leg to seal victory for his team in the 4x100-m relay Bouwahgjie Nkrumie was expected to lead his Kingston College team to victory at Penn’s. The Jamaican team suffered a massive blow in their bid to win the event at this year’s Carifta as Nkrumie suffered a hamstring injury in the preliminary round of the 100-m. He will miss the Penn Relays. His absence has left the event wide open after last year’s surprise victory by Camperdown. Jamaica occupied the top-four spots, and eight of the nine teams in the finals were Jamaicans. Despite the absence of Nkrumie, Kingston College cannot be written off with their season’s best of 40.01 seconds winning at Champs. Jamaica College – winners at Gibson McCook Relays with 40.01 – along with St Jago, second at Gibson McCook and Champs in 40:40 and 40.44 seconds; and Edwin Allen should ensure another close finish like last year when Camperdown won in 49.13 seconds ahead of Jamaica College 40.16 and St. Jago 40.17 seconds. JC, Edwin Allen and KC were involved in a thrilling affair in the 4x400-m relay at Champs before Jamaica College prevailed in 3:09.31 ahead of Edwin Allen 3:10.09 and KC 3:11.46. Another battle royal looms between St ElizabethTechnical and St Jago High School, the top two at the Gibson McCook Relays. St ElizabethTechnical’s time of 3:13.08, and St Jago’s 3:13. 69 will feature highly. Edwin Allen will also welcome the return of the outstanding Brian Levell, who has missed most of the season including his participation at Champs due to injury. His presence could make a big difference and could help to give his school their first Penn Relays success. 4X800M RELAYS Another close affair is expected in the 4x800-m relay as defending champions JC will be hoping to repeat in what could be a good meet for the Old Hope Road team. They will be relying on Kemarrio Bygrave and Rasheed Pryce to help bring them home. However, KC with Nahashon Ruto and ShevronWardlow, and season leader St Elizabeth Technical with a time of 7:35.08 at the Gibson McCook Relays will all want to ensure that the race goes down to the wire.
